When you’re a lover of fashion, you can find yourself making impulse purchases based on the latest trends.  Let’s face it, trendy can be fun and exciting when it comes to fashion. But, that can also present somewhat of a problem when it comes to only shopping for trends, considering some trends go out of style as soon as they begin.  My biggest rule of thumb is to always mix trendy with timeless pieces that will always be in style.  Below are a list of some of my go to timeless fashion pieces that every girl needs in their closet.

You can NEVER go wrong with a classic white button-down shirt. This piece is the perfect day to night transition piece. Throw this classic under a power suit for the office or with a pair of jeans for a Happy Hour to unwind. If you are starting your fashion journey this is a key piece to begin with.

A black blazer may be the single most important piece any woman should have in their wardrobe. The versatility of this piece is unmatched. Whether you have a classic tailored, cropped, or my new personal favorite boyfriend fit, you cannot go wrong with this tried and true stable. Run, don’t walk to your nearest website or mall if you don’t already have this blazer in your closet!

A pointed toe pump is one of those pieces that separates a girl from a woman. I don’t know what it is about a pointed toe pump that just exudes a “She’s got her s**t together” vibe. This is another piece that can be worn to the office or for a night on the town with your significant other or your girls. Whether it’s high end or a more affordable brand, this shoe always seems to elevate any type of outfit.

One of my go to pieces for any season is a classic denim jacket! A denim jacket can make even the simplest of outfits instantly chic. Once you add a classic denim jacket to your wardrobe, eventually you can start to play around with different styles and colors of this tried and true wardrobe staple.

Probably one of the most important pieces, if not the MOST important piece every woman should have in their wardrobe, is a good fitting pair of jeans. Whether it’s you prefer skinny, boot cut, or flare leg, a great fitting pair of jeans can take you very far. Jeans have stood the test of time in fashion, and is one of the few pieces that you can take from day to night.

A piece that I recently noticed was missing from my wardrobe was a classic trench coat. This coat can be worn so many different ways, but always takes the outfit up a notch.

I don’t think you can ever have enough black slacks in your closet! There’s so many variations to this staple piece currently! From wide leg to my personal favorite straight leg, there are so many ways to wear this key piece.

Of course I had to save the best for last…the classic LBD (Little Black Dress, in case you were wondering)! Personally, I can never get enough of a LBD. From work, to cocktail, to formal, there are so many different variations of this dress. I think this is why you will see this on every wardrobe staple list there is!
